Princess
Elettra Marconi, the 87 year-old daughter of Guglielmo Marconi, at the Italian
Embassy to the Holy See in Rome during the conference on the evolution of the
radio.
In
the picture with Elettra is her son (next to her), the Prefect of the Vatican’s
Communications, Mons. Edoardo Vigano’, and next to him Italian Ambassador
Pietro Sebastiani.
It
was also a way to celebrate the February 12th, 1931 event when Pope
Pius XI used a microphone which had been designed by Marconi to transmit for the
very first time the Pope’s message to the rest of the world through the us of
Vatican Radio.

On hand during the conference was also Italian author and DJ, Fabio Volo.
